Summer Reading

In my Novel, The Messenger, Ed, the main character is given jobs to do by unknown people. These jobs are given to him by giving him playing cards with addresses or clues to where he should go. In one of these addresses he is given a gun and he finds out he has to kill a father who has been abusive to his wife and daughter. The thought of killing someone is hard for Ed to grasp since is  not a violent person however he goes on with his plan.

Ed is a taxi driver so he figures out when the father usually needs a cab and he finds him and offers him a ride. He then offers him a drink and shortly after he takes it the husband passes out in the back seat. He then takes him to a secluded cliff in the town, wakes him up and threatens him with the gun and makes him walk out of the car. He talks to him about how he has been a bad person and is just about to shoot him in the head. He takes the shot, but he purposely misses. He then leaves him there and days later he finds out he left town, never to be seen again.
